Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing Flora Landscapes for your landscape installation. We make every
effort to provide our clients with the highest quality services
available. However, if a problem does arise, the following
statement explains how different elements of your landscape are
covered.
Plants
- If Flora installs your irrigation
system, there is a limited one year guarantee on your perennial
plant material. Plants installed with any other system are not
covered.
- Sometimes a client
requests a plant that we know is not a hardy species.
If the client insists on plantings that we do not recommend,
such plants are not guaranteed.
- Because we live in a coastal
area, many clients enjoy a tropical look for their
gardens. However, many tropical plants are not cold
hardy. We do not guarantee cold-sensitive plants.
- Plants grow outdoors in a natural
setting with animals, insects, and competing plants. They are living things
that live in a vulnerable environment. We are not responsible
for plants lost to damage from predation, infestation, weather,
or other physical damage. If a plant is lost due to infestation
at the time of planting, we will gladly replace the plant.
- In the landscape, containerized
plants establish very well because they have an intact root system
developing inside the container. Bare-root and balled-and-burlapped
plants are less likely to establish because their root system has
been damaged during transplanting. Bare-root and balled-and-burlapped plants are not guaranteed, including Sabal palmetto
(sabal palms) and Butia capitata (pindo palms.)
- If a problem exists with a
plant at the time of planting, it will rapidly show signs of
decline through wilt, discoloration, or infestation.
The client is responsible for informing Flora of any problem
within two weeks so that we can correct it. If communication does not occur within this
period, no guarantee is offered.
- Sometimes clients request
that we transplant existing plants. With
transplanting, roots are damaged and establishment can be difficult.
Transplanted plants are not guaranteed.
Sod
- Sod is highly dependent on consistent
and appropriate watering techniques, and it is subject to damage
from insects, fungi and other pathogens. There is a limited
one year guarantee on sod if Flora installs your irrigation
system and if you have a Flora maintenance contract.
- Winter kill of dormant sod is
a common occurrence due to extreme temperatures, especially with centipede. This usually
shows up as small patches of dead sod in a newly installed lawn.
Because of this natural occurrence, sod installed between September
15th and April 15th is not guaranteed. Winter kill can also
occur from late season (after August 1) nitrogen fertilization,
or from pre-emergence applications before establishment has
occurred. In these cases, sod is not guaranteed in the absence
of a Flora maintenance contract.
Seed
Many problems can arise with seeded
lawns. Seed can be eaten by birds or washed away by rain. If problems occur
during seeding, additional charges will be necessary for further
seed installation.
Irrigation Systems, Lighting Systems,
Water Features and Hardscapes
- All complete systems or
features installed by Flora have a limited one year guarantee.
- Flora is not responsible
for damage caused by animals, weather, or people other than
our staff.
Miscellaneous
Occasionally, our clients request
that we work on existing systems on their property. Sometimes these
systems are dated, rusted, or damaged. We are not responsible for
any problems or breakage that occurs due to weakness in the existing system.
If you have any questions, we will
gladly explain what this guarantee means for
your project. We are happy to help you in any way that we can.
Thank you again for using Flora for your landscaping project.
Sincerely,
Flora Landscapes
